JEZEBEL FILMWORKS is an African American woman owned business founded in 1993 by Ada M. Babino, an independent producer/director who has worked on a variety of projects over the past fifteen years. Jezebel is open to produce an array of projects, however, its primary focus is to target programs that are uniquely from an African American perspective; works that counter stereotypes, make creative advancements, and are reflective of the vast experiences in the African Diaspora community. Through the assistant of granting agencies and community support, Jezebel Filmworks produces independent projects. Their timeless docu-drama on hair entitled Middle Passage –N- Roots has aired on Showtime Networks and select PBS stations. MPNR has also screened at a number of domestic and international film festivals.
